Oh, football season, how we love you. But along with football season comes the need for gear. I mean, you can’t watch your favorite game without the appropriate jersey. That’s like, I don’t know, blasphemy.
Case in point - before I could go to a recent University of Oregon football game, I had to drop some cash on a sexy UO tee. I was just grateful that I didn’t have to wear some oversized polyester jersey. Thank you sports apparel vendors!
In any event, Old Navy must know about this “watch the game in team gear” requirement because this summer it started its Superfan Nation in-store destination that’s chock full of NFL and collegiate gear – for the whole family (they've even got PJs with NFL logos!). Smart move Old Navy. Because, let’s be honest, it doesn’t get more adorable than a baby in a Cowboys jersey.
This isn’t a huge stretch for Old Navy (although it seems like a bit of a commitment), as it has been offering licensed apparel, like NFL and collegiate tees, since 2009. The Superfan Nation expansion simply allows the company to fully cater to this market in a more dedicated manner.
The good news with all of this is – at least we know where to go. And with Old Navy, we’re almost always guaranteed reasonable prices. I was mortified at how much the Ducks Store expected me to pay for a tee, so from now on I’ll be heading to Old Navy.
Is this a good move for the Old Navy brand? Have you purchased gear from Superfan Nation this football season? Or do you go elsewhere? Tell us about it here!
